Ms. Greene began playing the harp at 8 years old. Her musical ability was nurtured in the Richmond Public Schools’ Harp Program in Richmond, Virginia. An avid learner, Ms. Greene earned a Bachelor of Music Degree in Harp Performance from the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, Maryland; studied Orchestral Repertoire at Rice University in Houston, Texas; studied music education at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia; and later earned a Master of Education Degree in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University. A testament to Ms. Greene’s connection to education through the Richmond Public Schools Harp Program, Harmony has hosted many charity events to raise awareness of the need for funding the of ongoing successes for the school system’s unique music program. Ms. Greene has performed extensively as a solo artist throughout the United States and is in preparation for an international tour to take place in 2010. In addition to having recorded two solo albums, “Reflections” and “Live At Peabody,” she has also collaborated with several solo artists and groups for recordings and live performances. Her desire to share her love of music led her to organize Harmony Of Virginia in April of 1999. Harmony’s primary goal is to provide exquisite classical and sacred music for all types of events. |
