Thomas Bolling Epps can best be described as a “painter of art and sacred song”. Originally from Petersburg, Virginia, his initial musical training was given to him by his grandmother, the late Cleo Wynn Bolling at First Baptist Church, Harrison Street. Thomas has studied classical voice since the age of eight when he joined the Petersburg Boys Choir under the direction of the late Professor Emeritus Buckner Gamby. For several years after this, Thomas continued his study of voice with Buckner Gamby and others.

Thomas graduated from George Mason University where he performed with the Chamber Singers, a select group of university vocalists for 4 semesters with Dr. Stanley Engebretson. Through this experience, Thomas achieved one of the greatest accomplishments of his life. In 2006, the choir traveled to Moscow State University in Moscow, Russia where Thomas was a gospel soloist and made his debut on the international stage.

Among his performance credits are chorus appearances in Die Zauberflöte (The Magie Flute) and Don Giovanni with the National Philharmonic Chorale as well as Dido and Aeneas at George Mason. He has performed the tenor solo work in The Messiah by Handel and, was presented in recital by the School Sisters of Notre Dame, Baltimore Province in 2011.
